Quick pic, just because I wanted to draw her skirt. Maybe later I’ll draw something better with a background and all. But not right now because this is totally NOT what I am supposed to be drawing :’)
I just… really… like her design…
"I was reading something on the Internet, and I remember a commenter that kind of read my mind. I think it was on Huff Post. On some story, he posted a comment that said something like ‘To the male, to me, Barbie…she kind of looks alien-like.’ And that’s what sparked it. I agree. If Barbie were a real woman, she’d be intimidating and cold, and what I like about real women is that they’re warm and friendly. I just wanted to create an image that would reflect that."
Lammily’s creator being kind of gross and sexist http://www.elle.com/news/culture/lammily-real-barbie-nickolay-lamm
allow me, a man, to tell you what a real woman is
Lammily just gets worse and worse
Boo this man and his bland doll. “If Barbie were a real woman, she’d be intimidating and cold…” Fuck you. I’ll take my “alien-like” Barbies (and I am “the male” so I must agree with him, right?) anyday over that oatmeal-lookin’-ass doll he’s created. UGH.

So I heard that in the EAH books Apple is described as curvy and Raven is described as a bit gaunt? I like!
Tell me how you made this it’s awesome!
Now my Monster High collection can be fangirls like I am ;)
In honor of Barbie’s 55th birthday I felt it only right to highlight the original girl who started it all — Ponytail #1. She’s repro, but I feel she captures the spirit of the original beautifully. She even has the holes in her feet that plug into the prongs of her stand. (These were very short-lived on the original dolls.) The original Barbie had brassy blonde or dark brunette hair and a strapless, black and white striped swimsuit that today reads as “timeless vintage”. Her poodle bangs and curled ponytail said “flirty”, but her emperious eyes conveyed something different entirely. This girl was ambitious; she meant business. Barbie was sexy and shrewd. When she made that debut 55 years ago she was practically laughed off the Toy Fair floor by the predominantly male buyers, most of whom considered her ridiculous. Today they — and the whole world — are singing a different tune.
You’re so right! Her original expression was priceless. She was clearly ready to take on the world!
As a ballerina myself, it infuriates me that they put Duchess in heels, you can’t perform in those! Why isn’t she in pointe shoes!?
BECAUSE IT IS A FASHION DOLL AND SHOES NEED TO BE INTERCHANGEABLE WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO GRASP FOR PEOPLE
But they could have put her in shoes like Dance Class Lagoona. I understand that her shoes should fit all the other dolls, but if they can make shoes that don’t look heeled, they can make ballerina shoes, especiall beacause the position their feet are look like the ballet feet position. (Not sure about EAH, I know MH does).
Maybe it was their intention was to make her shoes look like ballerina’s, but the confesser didn’t think so. I personally find it kind of alike.
